Health and Safety

Marbury Landscapes is committed to ensuring that all our work is completed with the safety of all its stakeholders in mind. New employees, as part of their induction, are provided with both general and job-specific health and safety training. This ensures that all our workmen are aware of the health and safety requirements of the tasks they will be performing. Refresher training is also provided to employees throughout their stay with the company, ensuring that all our workmen are up to date with the latest health and safety legislation and requirements. New employees are also provided with a standardised pack of personal protective equipment (PPE), along with any specialist PPE they require for their work. Records are kept of PPE distributed, and assessments made on a monthly basis of PPE and first aid requirements. All senior foreman are provided with a first aid box to keep in their van or wagon, and the vast majority of our employees have first aid training. We always ensure that a qualified first aider is available, both at the depot and in the teams sent out to contract sites.

Regular assessments are made of health and safety training needs, with training arranged when necessary. These are recorded and kept in our training files.

The vast majority of our staff hold Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) cards, or alternatively, certification on the Register of Landbased Operatives (ROLO). For further information, please click on the links. We aim to get all remaining staff on the CSCS scheme as soon as possible. Our staff also hold suitable qualifications related to the work they specialise in, with several holding certificates of competence in the use of pesticides. The vast majority of team members have also had chainsaw training.

Most staff members have had first aid training, and all senior foreman are qualified first aiders. There will be at least one senior foreman in the teams we send out to complete our work.
